The Mughal Gardens of Srinagar - Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi - are masterpieces of terraced Persian garden design, built in the 17th century and still breathtaking today. Gulmarg, a 51-km drive from Srinagar, is one of Asia's premier ski resorts in winter and a stunning alpine meadow in summer. The Gulmarg Gondola - one of the world's highest cable cars - lifts you from 2,650 metres to 3,980 metres at Apharwat Peak, offering panoramic views of the Karakoram and Hindu Kush ranges. In winter, fresh powder snow makes Gulmarg a bucket-list skiing destination. In summer, the meadows bloom with wildflowers and ponies graze in the meadow below.
Pahalgam, the 'Valley of Shepherds', is Kashmir's most romantic destination - a confluence of mountain rivers, pine forests, and Bollywood fame (many iconic films were shot here).
